Offering one pair of AKG K240DF Headphones in immaculate condition. Pads, headband etc... in immaculate shape. Designed and manufactured in Austria.

Used very lightly over the years. Mainly safely stored in their own case free from dust etc.

Not to be confused with the K240, which was a studio standard headphone in its own right, the K-240-DF is in a completely different class. Honestly, one of the most superlative midrange and treble you'll hear with a wonderful soundstage left to right and front to back. Lush, excellent extension. You simply don't find these headphones for sale very often because they represent a spectacular value and are considered a studio standard.

How so, you ask?

The K240DF phones are designed and optimized for European broadcast standards. The Institute of Radio Technology set forth a series of standards for headphones that are a big deal, and apparently not easy to achieve. These K240DFs make the grade.

In AKG's literature, they say that the K240DF: "follows the criteria specified by the IRT in Munich for a 'diffuse field' equalization curve that provides headphone listeners with the sound pattern and characteristics of a room with reflective, non-anechoic surfaces." If that means that these phones sound really great, then I agree.

Radio engineers are a notoriously cranky bunch who demand the best, so if they put their stamp on these phones, you can best bet that there are few, if any better that you can buy.

You'll need a good headphone amp to drive these super-fast drivers as they're rated at 600 Ohms.

Type: Semi-open, Parabolic

Frequency Range: 15 Hz to 20,000 Hz

Impedance: 600 Ohm

Sensitivity: 88 dB/mW

Net Weight: 240 g (8.5 oz.)

Pic is off the internet and is the exact pair available. In excellent condition. Grab them, or I may just change my mind.

Pickup in Oakville or happy to ship at buyer's expense.

Cheers. All the best this Holiday Season.
