Nice Krell showcase 5
5x 125W 8ohm, 5x 250W 4ohms
(very same as S1500 with a different face plate and the S1500 has a slight power supply change that I've done on this one, see description)

In perfect working order full recap done (using heavy duty parts and mostly 105 degree Celsius caps)
-100+ capacitors replaced, not just the main power supply one like most shop do...
-power supply section went from a respectable 80,000uF to an even better 120,000uF, 120000uf is quite big power supply energy storage! (50% improvement)
-preamp section bypass cap changed from 33uf to 82uf, this resulted in a even more dynamic sound (250% improvement)
-amp section caps replaced from 33uf to 220uf (660% improvement)
-feedback capacitor changed from generic polarized electrolytic to audiophile nichicon muse non-polar (the green one on pics)
-input capacitor removed for direct connection. (Krell product having coupling caps input still bug me, what a sonic bottleneck!)
-power supply mods to remove heat stress issue and improve long term reliability. From official Krell service bulletin: fully approved mod. (In stock form, driver board run 24/7 causing excess heat and this issue cause long term reliability problem) After mod, amp draw ~10watts from wall when plugged in and propery shut down all of the internal circuitry when turned off. If you have a Showcase, it's not about if it will fail but when.... (versus ~75watts)

Cost of recap was over $400 (parts alone) and it take considerable amount of time to effectuate.
I understand that you can find one for a bit cheaper elsewhere but you really get what you pay for.

In my 2nd system, I use the very same showcase (7 channel version with same upgrade) and there is about no way I'll ever sell it. They are very good.

I have original box.

Factory specs:

original box
No power cord but I could throw a generic one if you absolutely need one. Wouldn't recommend using them anyway.
