Selling a unique full range speaker kit with the excellent Seas Exotic F8-X1 8" full range driver (massive ALNICO motor). This kit s built by John Kalinowski. He is a custom speaker builder that is into making high efficiency horn systems.

You can read about John Kalinowski in 6moons:

For those who want to enter into the world of full range driver magic, this is probably the most painless and way to do it, considering that these speakers are ready to go and operational... no tweaking necessary. The Seas Exotic drivers are extremely fast, never fatiguing, extremely musical yet neutral in sound. Unlike other full range drivers, you do not need to ‘’tame’’ the driver to make it smooth sounding. This speaker uses only premium parts: made from Baltic birch plywood that is 1 and 5/8" thick with internal hardwood bracing (important for the musical properties in comparison to MDF which can weigh down the speaker), the very best Mundorf speaker binding posts and internal Nordost internal wire using WBT silver solder.

With the 12 inch paper SB acoustics drivers in a closed box (controlled and non bloated bass) taking care of the lower notes, this set up is really a full range system. The subwoofer units are built with the same attention to quality and detail as the full range units: Mundorf speaker binding posts, Baltic Birch plywood with internal hardwood bracing. The bass units are powered by a custom esternal solid state Marchand amplifier. Actual retail cost for a Marchand amplifier with built in adjustable low-pass, volume control and 6db selectable bass boost feature will cost 3000$USD today. These bass units produce tight and tuneful bass that supports extremely well the full range drivers. I think that this set up follows what Omega speakers and Voxativ is doing now. Where they are manufacturing very good full range drivers in order to avoid any crossover whatsoever to have that pure direct sound and completes the audio spectrum with bass units.

As you can see on the photos, the real wood veneer is marched across all 4 units. Which makes a very elegant and Bauhaus like feel to speaker system. I have photographed a couple of nicks on the cabinets but of course they do not affect sound and are not visible from your listening chair.

I have used this speaker system with 300b, 2a3 and 45 tube amplifiers. They behave very well with tubes and also had very good experiences with solid state tubes. For a room that is more than 300 square feet or more, amplification with 8 watts or more would be optimal.

Here is a tnt review of the SEAS exotic drivers. They took the time to compare the drivers to Living Voice's floor standing speakers!

I have contacted the reviewer for the autocad drawing of the grills. Grills can be water cut from aluminum for 300$ for a pair last time I checked.

When I last communicated with John Kalinowski you can have the very same Seas Exotic speakers in a closed cabinet with the same quality no compromise parts for 5000$USD (you have about 800$USD just in Mundorf speaker binding posts). A new Marchand amplifier with low pass feature has a retail value of 3000$USD. That’s 8000$USD without the bass speakers. Just for the sake of comparing the value of the speakers with what I am asking.

The interested buyer can text or call no problem. You can also Skype or Facetime is you want a real time walk through of the speakers before doing a listening session or talking about a pick up or discussing shipment options.

Here are some youtube videos that show the full range potiential of these speakers. Take note that these videos are from my iphone. This is to give you an idea:

My asking price is 3200$ for the speakers, bass modules and Marchand amplifier.

Willing to trade with a high end turntable and arm of 3000$ and up. May consider a high end dac also.

Thanks for looking

Here is what Kalinowski has to say about the construction of the speakers:

Hello! KCS is offering an all-new loudspeaker based on the new and wonderful SEAS Exotic full range alnico magnet 8" drivers. These SEAS drivers have only recently been released. I have spent over eight months designing around this new and amazing transducer, which is a true point-source, time- and phase-correct, and no crossover to get between you and your music. The build quality is very high. I had constructed many different cabinet designs before finally choosing this large, BBC golden-ratio, bookshelf-style cabinet. Our cabinet uses very costly Baltic birch plywood, the best type, plus KCS doubles this for a cabinet over 1-5/8" thick!! No resonance with this cabinet! Plus, KCS added a hard rock maple, fully-tuned brace inside this very heavy and over-built cabinet. We use full veneer even on bottom. Finish is the best anyone can offer, a true French polish like the best Martin guitars sport; *this is all hand-applied over 10 coats*. French polish is the best looking and sounding finish for this type of design, plus ages very well with no yellowing like plastic coats, and is easy to repair or maintain.

Hey, but we're not done yet! This loudspeaker also uses one of the worlds best binding post sets: Mundorf's solid copper M-connects! We used very high-quality Nordost internal cable plus WBT silver solder. Damping material is Acousta-stuff and our "special sauce" ;) We spared no expense.

This loudspeaker weighs 60 lbs ea.// 22" h x 14"w x 16"d // 40hz-22khz // 8ohms // 94db 1 watt. We include shipping in US 48 discounted for other locations. KCS is the first manufacturer to release a loudspeaker using Seas Exotic, don't think any others will offer due to high cost of drivers. And if one does, you can be sure the cost would be double what we ask since KCS is factory direct you save big.

Sell pair, your choice maple or cherry veneer! If you think this is a high price look up cost on Mundorf's large Copper M-connects and Seas drivers. Take care and happy listening!

SEAS X1-08 Exotic F8. This full range 8 inch driver has a paper cone with papyrus fibers to optimize stiffness and damping, and high frequency whizzer cone perfectly matched to the cone. Special foam rubber surround that reduces mass of surround by 40% compared to regular rubber surrounds, which results in higher sensitivity for the driver, and excellent damping properties. New GVD technology is combined with an extremely open weave spider. The threads in the weave are woven together in a way that makes the spider silent. In other words, the noise from the threads rubbing together is completely gone. The open weave is practically fully acoustically transparent and resonance problems caused by traditional spiders are reduced to a minimum. High temperature voice coil wound on a stiff and rigid glass fiber former. AlNiCo Magnet system in addition to a copper cap on the pole piece and an underhung voice coil reduce non linear distortion to a minimum. H2 lead out wires prevent roping and resonances.

Includes:

Marchand amplifier, full range drivers and cabs, SB acoustics woofers and cabs.
