These are an excellent example of the remarkable 1930's designs using electromagnetic drivers. This is from a Capehart 406d Adam De-Luxe console from around 1936, that is what many perceive as the best years in Capeharts history. Brands such as Jensen, RCA and Western Electric were making a very high quality product before the budget was even considered!
I should assume that if you are reading this ad then you know what these are but the description of the sound quality that these can produce is (without fear of being overly enthusiastic) staggering.
It may be hard to imagine a 1939's movie theatre showing Gone With The Wind but if you are able to close your eyes and imagine the full blown grandiose visuals of that film it may give you some indication of the necessary audio scope to rival that. Big, fast, warm, accurate, lifelike, richness beyond measure? Possibly one of the finest cone speakers ever made, again without fear of being overly enthusiastic.
There is also a terrific provenance (historical context) to go along with this driver which I will share privately with the buyer.
It has an 8ohm voice coil and weighs 35 or so pounds (hence the handle).
I included a picture of the original 6f6 tube amp that powered these and I can certainly include this for the increased shipping amount only as its only a mono amp and requires DC direct.
I should also mention that I have the matching Jensen Q4 tweeters which I will post separately.
Here is a video showing the working unit. There is some hum from the amps (bi-amp design) and if the amp is something you want then please take this into account as they will need some updating to sound their best.
