I did an AB blind test with my friends and one prefered the KEF 205 and the other Focal 1028. We were surprised because we were expecting the 1028 to be better and nope, this KEF can rival the focal 1028, Depending on your taste, these KEF can be more for you than the focals.
Someone who had the KEF 107/2 listen to these at my place and confirmed these are better than the 107/2.
I created a video for it ---> https://youtu.be/MV5JJl1Q0t4
I love the bass on the focal 1028 but I like these KEF 205 more for the midrange. Both speakers excel in the tweeter performance. This one comes with a hyper tweeter. ( Reaching 60khz, please read up on why it makes a difference before telling me people cannot hear beyond the 20khz) It feels a bit like listening to a super KEF 105/2. If you ever owned a KEF 105 or 104 and wished that it had more micro detail , this is it. It has Two 8 inch woofers and you get plenty of bass from it. Infact, you have 3 settings on these speakers for bass control,. Apparently it changes the bass output and you can customize based on your room. You can also TRI amp it. Not bi amp, tri amp if you want to.
This is a 3 way four driver system. You have a Hyper tweeter, a midrange and 2 woofers. This was their top of the line reference series and there is a reason for that. Its in very very good condition. Selling because I have too many high end speakers now.
