FOR SALE: Sjöfn the clue Bookshelf in Piano Black Lacquer Superb Condition!
REDUCED! Make me an offer... I have a pair of Sjöfn Hi-Fi the clue speakers beautifully done in a piano black lacquer finish. In which the Finish is Perfect, Shiny (see pics' reflections), and Without Blemish and the speakers are also in exceptional working order. These speakers are somewhat difficult to find as the owners tend to hold on to them. If you have never had a chance to listen to them, you have missed a treat to your ears. Most if not all of the $$$ that went into the development and production of these speakers are on the internals and the research, nothing fancy about anything outside i.e.: labels, tags, markings, etc because the quality is inside. You can find the reviews all over the net as here are a few places to start: positive-feedback, parttimeaudiophile, soundsgoodtome, audioreview, stereophile and also on Audiogon. Or, just google Sjöfn the clue...I am also including 2ea. - 6' Supra Ply 3.4 bare wire Speaker cables (I paid $68.00 for the cable), and will ship with the speakers.
The Clue is most remarkable due to its ideal positioning very close to the wall, perfect for small to medium sized areas. With the custom designed Scanspeak drivers, these are able to reach down to 28Hz despite the small size while remaining open and well balanced. With a remarkable natural sound with deep, tight, bass making them absolutely unique among audiophile speakers. I am selling these because I have replaced them with a pair of Tablette 10's. The clues are recommended to listen with the (magnetic) grill/covers off, I couldnt tell the difference, but sound good with the grills left on. I will state upfront: you will need to use care in placement to get the most out of these little gems. Including but not limited to: utilizing 20"-22" high stands, toeing-in @ approx. 22.5 degrees with the inside edge no more than 2"-3" from the back wall or even right up against it, and a ratio of speaker distance is 1 and the distance to your setting area is 1.2 for example: speakers are 96" (8') apart so your seating distance will be 115" (9.6') away for your listening space. In which the listening space is Not limited to a small sweet spot but rather a larger/wider area than expected. Speaker placement is not uncommon with many speaker systems, but if you are the type not wanting to"fiddle" with the placement, I would kindly ask you to move on. There is ample info on the net for the specifics to follow and if done to the "T" you will be greatly rewarded.
Here are few excerpt from reviewers at shows and online:
parttimeaudiophile ---"All kidding aside, please pardon my being blunt — these loudspeakers are simply outstanding, and at the current asking price of $1,000, they’re a bargain. Yes, a bargain. Why? Because to do better requires heavy lifting — and cash. Yes, can’t forget that part. Piles of cash."
positvefeedback issue No 53 --- Conclusion:
"I have gone on here at some length about The Clues because they have incredible strengths. Their sound quality is superb by any parameters that you want to apply—their reproduction of treble, midrange, bass, the soundstage, and low level detail are all accomplished at a remarkably high level. Less quantifiable musical components, such as emotional connection and illuminating the filament of memory, are equally well served.
I know I have dwelled somewhat on bass performance but it is the most astonishing aspect of a completely astonishing musical performance. Almost as astonishing is the ability to purchase all of this for $1500 per pair. (They were originally $1500, I believe then the owner decided to market himself and then the price magically dropped...An even greater bargain!
Reasonable offers considered...
