Well known and reviewed redbook quality CD player with a reference quality stand-alone DAC.
Original owner and it has always resided on my rack. There is not a mark on it, so from all external appearances it would easily rate a 9/10 (or better). Meticulous pride in ownership is evident.

In the spirit of full disclosure I must sell the unit "as is". Recently I have been hearing a bit of static noise upon initial start up/ turn on. A minute into CD or DAC playback the noise dissipates and does not return. This anomaly is so intermittent ..I may not even be able to replicate it during your demo audition. It may in fact be an easy fix, however I'm no electronics guru.
I will offer a full demonstration and buyer can bring their favorite music listening discs along and/or put the player thru whatever torture test you desire...I'm that confident in its capabilities.

Everything included: all original inner/outer packing boxes, factory power cable (not used), supplied rca patch cords (not used), owner's manual, remote control, storage bag.

NO SHIPPING. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY HERE IN MOUNT LAUREL, NJ (08054)

You will have a complete demonstration option should you desire so.

* since my initial posting a fellow audiophile has contacted me with this advice:
“apparently the Cambridge Audio 840c player has a weakness in the audio output stage capacitors. Cost-wise the remedy is inexpensive (ten bucks for new 50 volt replacement caps ??) to remove and replace for the technically savvy DYI’er handy with a soldering iron.
