Exceptionally clean Empire 208 Turntable for sale. This one has been refurbished as described below and comes with a mint condition and VERY RARE anti-skate and auto lift 980 tonearm and pickering cartridge.
This is without doubt the cleanest and well maintained 208/980 combo you will ever find and will give many more years of stellar service. It will also appreciate in value over the next couple of years due to the current resergence in vinyl and the love for all things mid century modern.

I promised myself I would not sell this turntable, which is the third and best one I have owned. However a couple of very rare moving magnet cartridges came along at the same time and my impulse got the best of me and now something else in my collection has to go.
Do not be deceived by the vintage looks, this Empire is a very high end piece of engineering due to the torque and reliability of the Pabst motor and the incredibly well engineered bearing. Because of these two components, companies such as Analogue Engineering and Atma-sphere have used this Empire turntable as a base from which to create two very expensive audio offerings, see the attached links for details.

To get you started I have installed a modest Pickering moving magnet cartridge, however, I can confirm that this table performs exceptionally well with high end moving coil cartridges.
This turntable is in stunning condition throughout. The work completed is as follows.
1) The top plate and platter have been thoroughly cleaned and polished. 2) The platter bearing and thrust pad has been thoroughly inspected, cleaned and re lubricated. This bearing is so smooth that with a light rotation applied will spin for what feels like forever. It is also dead silent which means that no vibration/noise is being transmitted to the stylus. 3) The base has been sanded down and three coats of minwax wipe on poly applied 4) Motor has been thoroughly cleaned and tested for speed which is spot on. 5) New drive belt installed.
Price excludes postage (Approx. $55 with insurance) but includes PayPal fees.
Buy with confidence and check out my feedback for examples of happy buyers of my previous gear.
