Here for sale are a set of Very Rare Italian made speakers from 1998. Opera Loudspeakers was founded in 1989 but it's origins go back to the early 1980's to an unusual but highly fruitful synergy between two cultures & two audiophiles, one Italian & the other English. The first loudspeaker to bear the Opera name was the Caruso. During that time, the english counterpart UKD Ltd. was involved in designing the Caruso speakers. The Caruso was introduced in 1998 and was the precursor of a series named in homage to the legendary voices of the lyric opera.

These are from a Limited Series set #73 out of 250.

Opera Loudspeakers immediately appeared as a fusion between the old & the new; between traditional Italian craftsmanship in cabinet making & the most advanced acoustic technology. Every Opera Speaker, even the least expensive model, follows a tried & tested philosophy of design which is the use of top quality materials allied to carefully applied basic principles of acoustic science. Hand made cabinets are made of carved solid wood that gives a fantastic designer look finish.

These cabinets have had a full restoration to bring back the original hand crafted appearance, with a new black finish to give it a gorgeous modern look. The 6" driver baskets are made from magnesium, which does not produces any detectable resonance, extremely ideal for proper sound reproduction but are prone to damage if cabinets are in anyway mistreated. The binding posts are high quality brass. Rubber surrounds are either new or in excellent condition, grills are new but are not shown... because they look so amazing off - why cover them? Previous owner had work done as well. Included are photos of the extensive restoration process just completed. Interior compartments have been re-lined with Ultra Touch Recycled Cotton sound insulation ½ “ thick on walls and back panels in upper sections, and 2” thick in bottom Woofer sections.

How they sound:
Lately I really go through everything in my hands, but every now and then there is something that sounds really above the average. This is the case of Caruso. If you drive well (not suitable for valves, but very good dynamics transistors) they give a wonderful sound.Very fast, with a high, high-crystal, high-precision mid-section, always remaining within the limits of no-annoying sound and with a bass that does not drop much but speeds its strength. Finally I was able to figure out what some people are writing reviews about, with the word "very stable sound image" .... because these loudspeakers have this important feature -Fantastic !!!!!!!!!!!

The Sound is Excellent!

Small footprint 9"x11"x38"

They were approximately $7,500 U.S. new in today's money!
