Oh boy, I found this today in a local Goodwill store. A quick squirt of Deoxit and It all seems to be working very well .. I am mostly playing and recording needle drops of vinyl these days and this amp is doing everything from Quincy Jones to Van Halen justice-real justice...
My problem is I am no good with a DMM or a soldering iron, and from what I have read online in the last 20 years vintage equipment like this usually has capacitors and other tiny electronic things that sometimes swell or dry out and become problematic with age.
Right now this amp is working very nicely, all the buttons and switches work (the stereo switch is odd, if it is not depressed the amp plays in mono ????)
anyway, I am sure there is someone out there that IS good with a DMM and a soldering iron and this amp should be with them, or someone who has the money to pay someone, just in case it ever develops problems.
I did a quick Google search and found very little. But what I did find was interesting.
I will trade this sexy beast for something I like that I will likely never have to fix with a soldering iron or DMM.
*of similar value
Im interested primarily in different / higher quality / used phono carts/styli, I have several nice ones already but nothing 'special' so if you have something sweet in a drawer you are not using ? I could use a MC pre, a turntable ? when it comes to equipment I prefer 'ugly and great sounding' over 'bling and a mortgage payment' so if you have some ugly item somewhere you have been embarrassed to offer for sale because of the way it looks, but it sounds great, I want it. or anything else that may improve my needle drops digital recorder? or maybe some sweet vinyl you have that you are ready to let go ? *shudder
Shipping will likely be expensive but I will pack and ship any way you want, at your expense.
Local pick up in Santa Cruz Ca is welcomed.
Im new here but Im on E bay for 20 years and happy to share details privately.
