Selling this T+A AMP 8 for a good customer. He recently purchased ATC SCM40A active speakers, so no longer needs a power amp. This amp served him very well. We've actually used a T+A AMP 8 in one of our demo systems driving the passive ATC SCM40 and it does an incredible job. Look past the wattage ratings, this amp has serious drive, dynamics and refinement.

It is in absolutely beautiful condition and an incredible sounding amp! This amp is neutral to ever-so-slightly warm, is detailed, dynamic and very well controlled. It also comes across way more powerful than the specifications suggest. Rated at 80W into 8 ohms, most customers have been shocked when they've heard it and guessed the power rating in the 125W-150W range. One local customer felt that power-wise it was for sure on par with a 125W Simaudio Neo amp he heard recently, but thought this T+A AMP 8 sounded better.

This amp uses a lot of the trickle down technology from the $25,000+ CAD amplification in T+A's highly acclaimed HV series. You get a lot of the technology and sound for a fraction of the price. Drive it directly with a T+A DAC 8 DSD, and you have a setup that would be hard to beat for anywhere near the money.

Features balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs and signal sensing for auto power on/off. So, no need to turn it off as it will turn itself off when it doesn't see a signal for a period of time. Then, when it senses a signal, it powers back up from its standby mode and it good to go.

hi-finews Oustanding Product - Dec 2013 – “Voiced perfectly to make a great system when used with the DAC 8 - its natural partner - the AMP 8 sounds crisp and vivid with just the right balance of warmth and civility to avoid it appearing relentlessly analytical. If you can accommodate a bigger pair of floorstanders, the AMP 8 should drive them with ease, making for a high end system without breaking the bank. It´s another outstanding design from T+A.”

Hifi+ review:

"Dynamic range is one of the most noticeable improvements the AMP 8 has over many of its rivals. The amplifier simply has better dynamics than its rivals."

"If you buy this amplifier, it’s a decade long commitment to a design that will not age, falter, materially change, or in any other way fall to bits for the next two dozen years at least. To me, that’s a highly attractive prospect, but I know people who change equipment with the seasons and they will find this unbreakable nature challenges their decision making process. Recommended for the long game!"
