The 'K' in the KST-150 amp from Luminance Audio is Steve Keiser, the designer of one of the first really good sounding solid state amplifiers back in the 80's - the
B&K ST-140.
Steve has learned a lot about amplifiers and what sounds good, in the many years he has been designing product.
In 2007, he introduced a new amplifier under the Luminance brand, called the KST-150, which went on to attract a lot of praise, awards and great reviews. Use the link provided above to access their website and the product page for this amp. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, there are links to great reviews from four different publications, including 'Amplifier of the Year' from Stereomojo.
The KST performs as well and better than amps that cost thousands of dollars more. Specifications appear below.
I had no qualms at all using this amp to demo a $22000.00 US pair of speakers a couple of weeks ago. (They sold)
The KST-150 has enough power to drive just about anything, and they aren't kidding about the 'speed' of this amp. Big Classical music and loud, crashing drum solos with lots of cymbals are not a problem for the Luminance amp - it sorts everything out so that the music is clear, with no distortion.

BONUS: This amp is even better, as it has received an important parts upgrade: the Bybee Labs 'Music Rail' modules. The Bybee products are World Famous for their ability to eradicate noise in components. There are four Music Rail modules located in the power supply section of this Luminance amplifier. Go to http://www.bybeelabs.com to read about the Bybee Music Rails, plus a couple of reviews.
The Bybee Music Rails sell for $90.00 US each, so that's $360.00 US/$452.00 Cdn (plus taxes) worth of excellent parts added to this amp.

The Luminance KST-150 amp sells for $3000.00 US (= $3775.00 Cdn, plus taxes, International shipping to get one from the USA, etc - value over $4200.00 with the Bybees)
You can have this special upgraded model for only $1700.00 Cdn.
