Krell S-300i in excellent shape with remote, power cord, original box and all documentation virtually like new. The first thing you notice about this amp is how heavy it is. It weighs about twice what a normal integrad this size comes in at and is a testament to its build quality. The remote is also a nicely machined chunk of aluminum and the packaging is 1st rate. Just to note, this one does not have the IPod cable or interface.
HomeTheatre Review : Sonically, the highs on Krell amps have improved vastly over the years. In terms of bass - it's hard to do better than Krell even with their entry level integrated amp. As with the music examples above and when using a media server like the AppleTV/Benchmark combo - the Krell S-300i reeks of audio relevance while dripping in audiophile credibility. In a world where I can get gear for free or on loan - I wrote a check for the Krell S-300i. It's that good. It's an integrated amp that has changed the way I enjoy music by getting me out of the dedicated theater room and into the main part of my house. Additionally, like the NAD receiver of my youth - the Krell S-300i has inspired me to buy more audiophile gear.
The Absolute Sound : Krell is a company I don’t ordinarily associate with blue-plate audio values. I had to continually remind myself that the S-300i is only a $2500 amp; yet I was comparing it to amps twice the price and more. What blew me away was the balance Krell has struck between the sonic expectations of traditional audiophiles and a new generation of hobbyists whose priorities also include modern functionality and features. Choosing an integrated amp just got a whole lot more complicated. But remember to bend your knees.
