SOLD - FOR SALE: NICE Sansui SR-535 DD Turntable w/ Empire Cartridge, minor issue (simple fix) Sounds Great!
Sansui SR-535 Direct Drive Turntable with Empire cartridge and stylus.
This unit is bigger and heavier, more solid than the typical Japanese turntable. Both speeds 33 and 45 rpm are impressively rock-steady even without quartz control.
It sounds great, better than most other Japanese turntables I've used, including Technics, JVC, Pioneer and Sony.

Speeds: 33 and 45rpm
Wow and flutter: 0.025% wrms

I tested it using a Shure cartridge borrowed from another turntable. The cartridge included with this Sansui turntable is an Empire with good stylus but I have not tested the cartridge itself.

There is a minor issue. While it plays well and sounds great, the unit keeps on spinning even with the tonearm on the tonearm rest.
This issue is somewhat common and ,according to articles on the Net, easy to fix.
I am selling it for only CAD 100.00 - a steal as this model (without the issue) would sell for over USD 200.00 (+ shipping) on eBay.
You can save the cost of having it fixed by using a power bar to switch the unit off. Except for the minor issue, it plays very well and the cosmetics look nice too.

Otherwise (if you don't wish to send it for repair) you could simply use a power bar to switch it off.
The price is only $100 to reflect the minor issue. Normally this model sells on eBay for over USD200.00 (+ shipping).
Other than that particular minor issue, there is no other concern.
