For Sale:

Teac 40-4, Four Channel, 1/4 track Reel-to-Reel tape machine.

Excellent condition.

Utilizes 1/4 inch reel tape. Accepts large (10.5 inch) reels as well as smaller reels.

7 1/2 and 15 ips.

Will playback your old 1/4 track tapes in either one, two, three, or four channel mode. Say you have an old stereo Beatles reel tape on 7-inch reel. Just select heads 1 and 3 and play it forward for "side 1", then flip the reel tape and play side 2 using heads 1 and 3.

You can record using the same method and create correct two-channel, quarter-track recordings.

Also plays back and records all four channels in one direction. We tested our commercially released quad BEST OF GUESS WHO reel tape on this machine and it played true and correct.

The multi-pin connector for the 4 channel dbx unit is not included as it did not come with the RtR when we bought it (heck we have lots of dbx units 224s etc of our own so we never used the Teac's dbx).

This machine does not come with take up reels or NAB hub adapters.

Due to the very heavy weight 75 pounds unboxed, we recommend local pickup. The last time we shipped a double-boxed tape machine weighing 75 pounds, it cost us $175 (FedEx)...so that is what it will cost you if you are West Coast or far from Florida.

E-mail us for any questions and include a phone number.

We are tapers since 1970s and we will cheerfully answer any questions you have.
