This tonearm cable is designed specifically for low output cartridges. The conductors are high-conductivity Hitachi HiFC, 101% IACS or higher, and are much more resistant to work-hardening than regular "five nines" copper. The KLE connectors are among the best made, with silver plating. Instead of coaxial construction, it uses twisted-pair construction, making the cable virtually immune to low frequency EMI (from power chords and such). There is a braided shield, and an additional magnesium tape shield that both damps and offers superior EMI/RFI protection. Unshielded phono cables for a low output cartridge are just dumb. Noise is not music, if it isn't on the recording.

Because it is twisted-pair, the capacitance is higher than a typical coaxial design. This isn't a problem for a low inductance cartridge. If you have a question on whether your cartridge is appropriate, I will check for you. Do not use if you have a high output cartridge with high inductance, like most Shures.
