Vintage Lattice Front Sansui

Possible free delivery to Vancouver or Victoria.

Decent cosmetics and sound pretty good.

A good part of the value in any of the Sansui lattice front is in the looks, and the collectability. For absolute sound qualiity you can do a lot better, especially if you spend a bit more. Persoanly, i find it hard to stomach when some sellers of these go on and on how "amazing" and...and.... Maybe they've never listened to anything decent, more likely just want to sell, I've had probably 10 different pair of lattice front Sansui, up to and including SP-X11000. Most were useable, as are these. Better than no speakers for sure. But none were what I'd call "good". So don't buy these sight unseen and expect magic.

Mind you crossovers should be recapped to get best from these. Who knows then?

Rate them say 7 maybe a bit better out of 10 for cosmetics, as compared to several other unrestored examples.

Getting up the food chain as to higher end model. There were a few models above the 9000, but lot more below than above.

Features 16 in woofer, and dual horns in tweeter section. Plus couple of "super tweeters" Note - I'm old and dont hear well if atl way way up high, but I have yet to hear any sound coming out of any of the several Sansui super tweeters I've owned. So I think they'e working, but can't gauranteed it. Possibly I didnt have a sound source with high enough frequency?.

6 drivers per box, so may qualify as Kabuki grade? The Kabuki value is real - those SP-X11000 can sell for over $1500, and its not for the sound.

Grills are pretty good, some damage but not awful. See photo.

Some damage on cabinets - corners and edges took it. Rest of surfaces not bad at all - not scratched up bad. See photo..

All drivers look good - no pushed in dustcaps, or torn cones or anything unpleasant.

Specs?

8 ohm
Max Power Handling - 220 watts
Woofer - 16 in
Midrange - 8 in
Tweeter - horn x 2
Supertweeter - 1 13/16 in x 2

Quite efficient so doesn't take big amp to drive them loud.

I got them from original owner, but would say have not been pampered over the years. More likely typical care - neglected and stuffed into a corner somewhere.

Pricing to reflect less than wonderbar condition. Nicer sets going up to $400 recently.

Local sale only thing sensible. Too costly to ship. Can deliver for free to Calgary or Red Deer, on my schedule. Having said that, I may be able to deliver to Vancouver or Victoria. Planning a road trip in about a month.
