Have changed the ad to reflect that I will only sell this Digital Equalizer with the separately purchased calibrated mic (Behringer ECM-8000) I have for it as recommended by the manual. I will not split this up regardless of the buyers particular circumstances. The two really need to go together IMHO. Interesting trades for working vintage audio gear (particularly a turntable) would be considered. No BPC please.
The Swiss Army Knife EQ/Processor for Pro Audio (including DJs) and home audio enthusiasts. I just recently added it to my man-cave audio system - works fantastic for automatically compensating for poor room acoustics. Seen very little use. Still has plastic factory wrap on Display. Unit is in very good condition but I will warn you it is a complex device so if you are not very audio savvy I would likely recommend you steer clear unless you want to learn... Included is the recommended omni-directional measurement microphone for setting up for room acoustics as part of this deal. You really can't compensate for room acoustics without a properly calibrated measurement mic regardless of how good you think your ears are. Plenty of reviews on the Internet/YouTube about how to use this great little work horse of a system. Ever wonder why your audio system sounds flat or tinny all the time? It is likely because your listening room is crap - most rooms are when you imagine what your spouse will let you get away with! Well this unit will solve most of your listening environment problems shy of correcting for bad recordings. This unit will not fix that (usually). It is really a super-sophisticated computerized Equalizer that will automatically compensate the room to the listening curve you want. Below is a link to some generic curves pre-programmed into my dbx GoRack but of course the GoRack can't compensate to make your room sound like these curves so you really have to go with trial and error for the sake of convenience - this DEQ can make your room respond like these curves! Go to page 18 here:
The DEQ2496 still sells for $462 still on Amazon.ca while the mic is ~ $100 anywhere you look so you are getting a pretty darn good price on this little system.
I am pretty firm on the price so for any offers less I will simply continue to enjoy using it in its new role in my man-cave audio system. The "ONLY" reason I am considering selling it is to surprise my daughter with some extra spending money who is on a trip of a lifetime back-packing Australia and SE Asia right now and I am trying to be a nice dad.... She just started her 3 month journey so I have lots of time for the surprise as she will likely need it more near the end of her trip ;-)
Buyer pays actual cost of shipping if not local. Local sale preferred since quite frankly it is a pain dealing with the post office and being unsure of how it will arrive on the other end.
Here is a video description of the actual unit I am selling with mic: https://youtu.be/ivVQ6-pKkYY
Here is a brief sound check I did shortly after the above clip: https://youtu.be/syT9Dt9-m_Y
Here is a one persons walk through guide on how to set it up for compensating the bass range of a home audio system: https://youtu.be/MAY6TiBC57Y
Will consider interesting trades remembering I have an affinity for the Silver Series era of Pioneer. Maybe an RT-XXX Reel to Reel????
Box and power cable. Manual available online. I may have the hard copy still - looking. Mic comes without XLR cable or mic stand shown which can be picked up at any Pro Audio Shop. Most pro audio folks will have them anyway.
