Seeing the huge old blue JBL Studio Monitors and Rodgers/Spendor monitors (of BBC fame) get such high praise from the audiophile community makes me wonder why the Canadian brand SOTA (State Of The Art Electronik) have never attained the same level of prestige. They are a beautifully made speaker system, and are still in use by studios in Canada and around the world.

If you've never seen them, they are large jet black beasts; each monitor having a middle D'Appolito MTM line array (two 4” mids drivers, one each sitting above and below a Dynaudio 1” silk dome tweeter). This array is flanked on either side by two 12” woofers that are raked away from the central array by what might be 33 degrees or so.
When properly amplified (bi-amp is the only way, using the custom phase-aligning crossover, the SOTA AAX2, included), the sound is accurate and incredible.

Pictures are of a sold pair - I have two pairs available. The most recent pair are in very nice condition. Drivers have just had the foam surrounds professionally replaced.

Speakers are located in Mississauga, Ontario.

An awesome set of speakers. Added a picture showing these in Drake's studio - shown is Noah "40" Shebib (Drake's right hand man).

Delivery extra.
