Anyone who knows Sansui or other high end audio knows that this is a magnificent piece. I am the original owner. It has the most commanding presence and tightest bass response of any unit I have heard. Power rating is 170 watts RMS per channel. It has a massive toroidal power transformer and 2 huge filter caps. It also has the most complete and flexible set of front panel controls and switches. I fell in love with this unit in 1977, bought it and have used it ever since. It has had only 2 service issues, 1 being an intermittant transistor in the protect circuit which would cause the unit to go into protect without reason, the second was a cold solder joint on 2 of the output transistors. Both were repaired by me (I'm an electronic technician). There have been 2 mods as well. The din tape deck connection was repurposed to allow an outboard graphic equalizer to be inserted without using a tape monitor loop. The other is a 12volt regulator and wiring for a pancake ventilation heat extraction fan to be used. Both mods are still there.
I would rather not ship this unit as it weighs over 65 pounds and I really would hate to have it damaged in shipping. As shown in the pix, there are some cosmetic paint damage issues. I don't remember how they happened but they are there. I have anguished over selling it for a while now, but the truth is I don't use it anymore.
