This is one special amplifier.
It has been totally stripped down to bare chassis and totally rebuilt with all new parts underneath. It has been rebuilt by the Famous Sam Kim of Sam's Audio Labs . Sam has kept the original circutry design. All pots have been rebuilt (not just cleaned). All new RCA inputs on the back and speaker terminals. You can not ask for a more complete or better restoration. It has been restored by the master audio engineer Mr. Sam Kim. (He is the one that did the complete restoration on the Eico 81 in the June 2006 issue of stereophile magazine) look here.
Sam told me that there is 240 hours of work that has gone into this amp. (at a conservitive value of $75/hr, that is $18,000.00 worth of workmanship)
check out his website at www.samsaudiolabs.com
This amplifier has been fine tuned and sounds magical..........
Take a look at the pics and the workmanship on the circuitry. Every part is new and every solder joint is new.
This amp has all the original transformers which were designed by Hashimoto when he was at Sansui. This amp is from the 1960's production run.
This is a rare opportunity to own the best amplifier Sansui ever built and the best restoration this amp can have.
This amp weighs a hefty 55 Lbs due to quality of the chassis and the extreme quality of the transformers. These transformers are huge!!!!
The peak power is 40 watts per channel and it is 27 watts per channel RMS. Sam has fine tuned the amp to perfectly match the American made 5881 tubes (industrial strength of the 6L6 tube). He also lowered the bias with no loss of the original Sonics. This creates a much more reliable amplifier that will give sonic pleasures for many years.
This amp has 2 top audiophile quality phono inputs one for movng magnet and also one for moving coil.
All tubes are American, British, or West German. (No Chinese or Russian tubes in this amp)
This amp's original power transformer can run on 115 volts or 230 volts as this amp has the original switch on the chassis.
This is one of the best examples sonically of this great amplifier.
It comes with a 1 year warranty. If anything goes wrong within the first year Sam agrees to repair it for free (you just pay shipping back and forth)
