One pair of very rare Dynaco Mark VI 120 watt monoblocks.
These amps have been completely overhauled.
All electrolytic capacitors have been replaced as well as all film and coupling capacitors. The dual section cans have also been replaced as well as the 4 main b+ capacitors on the top of the chassis.
All resistors were replaced as nearly all the carbon composition resistors were out of tolerance. All resistors that are supposed to be within 1% now are.
Each amp has a new time delay tube, 7199 tube and a quad of well matched NOS Sylvania built 8417 tubes. I have matched all the output tubes GM with my Stark 9-66A. Not the very best method but its as close as I can get to matched quads. All the tubes are new with less than 4 hours.
These pictures show the test quads of 8417's.
These amps are not exactly the same as one amp has the alternate Dynaco Japanese transformers, and these are the correct transformers and parts numbers for the chassis. Apparently Dynaco spec'd two different versions of transformers for these amps and both are original in every respect, except for the parts that have been replaced.
This does not affect the sounds they make as they sound identical to me. I have swapped them side to side and can hear no difference through my Altec 19's. The lights in the meter of one amp are not working.
The cosmetic condition of these monoblocks is outstanding. No dents, scratches, rust or corrosion. All paintwork is original. This pair is ready to play and need nothing. I've spent a considerable amount of money rebuilding these. The tubes and two multi-section cans cost over $700.
I would also consider any interesting trades Dynaco or otherwise as I am looking for a pair of Forte II or Cornwall. I will also include all the original parts replaced if requested.
These monoblocks weigh nearly 60lbs each. Any type of shipping will have to be thought out by the buyer, but of course I would be willing to assist in this. I believe equipment this heavy should be shipped on a pallet.
