What you see here is one of the original test amps that led to Technics receiving the FIRST EVER THX Certification for a home theater surround sound system. Yes that's correct Technics by Panasonic, was the very first company to have a system THX Certified. The amp up for sale was part of the original test system sent to George Lucas' Skywalker Sound for final approval. Prove it! Read below, refer to the link;
"5) THX Certified Audio Gear
Starting with Technics in 1991, THX has pushed the consumer electronics industry to create better and better audio products. Today, receivers, speakers, acoustic treatments and more are certified by THX, ensuring the highest level of performance."
Look at the address on the box in the picture.
For the Technics Collector, this is a piece of history proving that Panasonic/Technics has always been on the leading edge of technology.
If you look at the SE-M100 Digital amp you will see that all the hi-end goodies in there are in this amp. Oxygen free copper and silver conductors, EX electrolytic capacitors and oxygen free copper coil on the transformers.
Vastly underated and very little known, this is a high performing class AA amp built with the finest of components.
125 w/ch into 8ohms,
Unused for most of it's 20 year life.
Consider that as a certification piece, this would have gone through Quality Control Tweaking and fine-tuning at PanasonicTechnics in order to have it running at 110%.
The system priced at $12,000US, consisted of 3 amps, a pre-amp, a source selector and the 5.1 speaker array. Of those three amps, this is one, mint shape, barely used. The other two have been doing service in a bar in California and are far from mint or unused. This unit is unique in the world, nobody will have another like it.

SE-TX100 amp, original box, original packaging, a little piece of history.
