The Marantz SR8000 receiver is about 5 years old. It is a 5.1 receiver (Dolby Digital and DTS) with multi-zone capability. Power rating is 110 WPC x5. It has a 5.1 input for DVD-A and/or SACD purposes. It also has pre-out jacks for all 6 channels. It features a 'Source Direct' mode to bypass processing for your analog sources. It includes the RC-2000MkII learning remote control, which on its own sold for CAD$300.
The SR8000 was a 'tweaked' version of the more affordable SR7000. The tweaks include a beefier power supply, a copper chassis, and Marantz's HDAM amplifier modules.
