SORRY THIS AMP IS SOLD...

Up for your consideration is in my opinion... one of the nicest amplifiers I have had the pleasure of owning.
Conrad Johnson MF-200. This is a MOSFET designed 200 watt per channel monster of an ampliifer that tips the scales at nearly 60 lbs!
Let's put it this way... The racks aren't just for looks, they're necessary!

The musical performance of this amplifier can only be described as remarkable! Conrad took their top rated vacuum tube amplifiers as a benchmark to create the same tonal qualities in a powerful solid state design. It really does sound like a very good tube amp on steroids! Only this amp has the speed and visceral punch that you can only get from a top rated solid state amp.

Massive transformer and high grade storage capacitors are used and absolutely NO electrolytic capacitors in the signal chain! All caps are polypropylene or polystyrene and all resistors are metal oxide rated at 1% tolerance.
This thing is way overbuilt! but last I checked that is a good thing isn't it?

The sound...

I've had this amp for quite some time now and although it pains me to part with it, I have others that don't take up quite as much room. this amp is big!!!
The sound can only be described (for me) as "liquid" "punchy" "fast" "sweet yet detailed" and... "extremely dynamic and powerful"
There aren't many speakers out there that would make this amp sweat. It seems like it has endless reserves of power at hand. If you have hard to drive speakers then this might be the perfect answer for them. This amp keeps its composure even when driven very hard. Had it running a pair of B&W 801 Matrix S3's for a while and it was like musical heaven. This amp dished it out while the B&W's just soaked it all in and delivered the goods in spades!
This was a combination experience that I will never forget!

The condition...

The condition of the amp is excellent. You would have to look very close (and I mean very close) to find any type of imperfections. You should have no problems putting this beast on display in your wife's showcase livingroom! ;)

The purchase details...

Because of the weight of this amp, local pick up is highly recommended and encouraged as I feel better having the prospective buyer listen to it first.
Shipping won't be cheap anyway especially when you consider the boxing and protection it will need to keep it safe while in transit.

I will consider a possible trade on this amp. In particular I'm looking for a receiver that I once sold and regretted selling. Pioneer SX-1250 If you have one that you would consider trading then we can discuss details. I'm only interested in this model of receiver and it has to be mint or near mint condition with no operating flaws.... Kind of like this Conrad Johnson! ;)

If it is to be a straight purchase then my price is a very reasonable $875.
The amp retailed for $2000 USD back in the early 90's and it is very hard to find one now... especially in this kind of condition.
