I recently inherited enough money to last me the rest of my life and beyond, and am selling (nearly giving away) three systems - of which this one is the first - as I can now afford to buy anything truly worthy too my ears, and am going to do just that;-)
For Sale:
1. Pioneer Elite PD-6-J CD Player - 1 month old and has 3 years warranty, Like new. With factory box and manual; Plays Redbook, SACD and HDCD; cost me $625 CD
2. Belles OCM-88 Preamplifier - 10 years old, remote; gold plated inputs and outputs for any combination of peripherals; has RCA and XLR input for CD and outputs to amplifier, Mint inside and 8/10 outside. Superb electronic relay to resistors volume control; No dents, gouges or scratches; comes with remote and manual; this pre is to die for, cost me $7460 US
3. Exposure Super 18 power amplifier (75 watts x 2 @ 8 0hms), 8 years old; Mint inside and 8/10 outside with no scratches, dings or gouges; PDF manual; musicality and real grunt on the low end; RCA & XLR inputs cost me $2400 CD.
4. Small box of high quality interconnects and speaker cables (NBS, Goertz)
This is a wonderful entry level audiophile system currently powering QUAD ESL 989, 988's, Merlin VSM and Axiom M60 speakers. It propels them all beautifully and is very musical. You would have to spend much, much more to arrive at the transparency, detail, soundstage and dynamic range these hand-picked components bring out of a good CD player.
This equipment cost me over $10,000 and I am selling to neediest budget-minded buyer who wants the sound she/he/they cannot afford. Yours for $2000 and shipping. I have lived by the standard - that what you send around in life eventually comes back to you - so live a good life and be good to others. And it finally will happen in some good way to you. Exactly 40 years ago an old fellow like I am now did this for me.
Codocil: I am looking to help someone who really loves music and isn't trying to play 'musical chairs' with me. I want it to go to a deserving person, family would be best, who can't afford a real audiophile entry level system but would like to. I WILL EVEN SHIP FREE to the person If I feel they cannot afford it. Call it a 'means test'. So as Tom Cochrane once said; I Wish You Well and thanks for looking at the add.
other odds and ends I may have forgotten
