I'm selling a set of four Herbie's tube dampers in a size that will fit medium EL34 tubes. I've used them exclusively on Valve Art and Audio Space-branded EL34s. They might fit a tube that is slightly bigger than these.

These dampers are an older model that is no longer made. Diameter of the nickel-steel ring is about 45mm. Diameter of the inner opening, taking the damper rings into account, is about 32mm. That corresponds roughly to the size of the current Herbie's UltraSonic 35 damper.

A look at the photo will show that one of the fibreglass damper pad linings is slightly damaged. This has no effect on sound or normal wear. Another pad has a slight fold across it. I've adjusted the price in consequence.

These gadgets really work. I've tried almost all of Herbie's damper types and they all have a similar effect: they improve apparent resolution, bringing image clarity and stability. They can also affect tone and dynamics, nudging towards warmth, punchiness and so forth. This particular model seem to affect the top end a bit more than the bottom.

If you are considering the dampers in this ad for your output tubes and don't have any yet on your small-signal drivers, don't buy these. No kidding. Get a set for your driver tubes instead. They will have even more effect on the drivers and that may be all you need.
