Here is a pair of DLK/3 Reference Module speakers complete with DLK factory-made ‘Optimizer’ stands and all their original cartons.
The DLK speaker line was the house speaker of a Midwest electronics chain called Schaak Electronics, based in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area in the mid to late 70's.
These are 3-way speakers with a 12" bass that has the pleated-and-treated fabric surrounds which virtually never rot out.
All the joints are still tight, and apart from the one blemish in the photo the finish is practically like new. And that blemish looks like black felt marker to me, so it has not made any impression into the veneer whatsoever. I expect anyone who knows woodwork refinishing would have no trouble getting rid of it.
The veneer is real wood - burled walnut, I believe. The grills are in mint condition without any rips, tears, pills or runs. One of the front baffle board decals is missing, but that doesn’t affect the looks with the grills on.
I expect they were meant to compete with the likes of the Altec Lansings, JBLs and others of similar ilk at the time.
Whether or not they succeeded you can decide for yourself if you want since I have them wired to the same amp as my JBL 100's of similar vintage.
I’m not shipping these so it’s pickup only in Newmarket ON (Bayview and Mulock area).

Includes:

Speakers, stands, original cartons for all.
