Lusting after $1000-$2000 NS-1000, but cannot afford them?
NS-690 are second best in the line, the main difference is there's no beryllium used, other than that virtually identical to NS-1000 / NS-1000M.
Fabulous performance. One of few speaker designs that can play very loud and very clear; comparable to JBL Professional in that respect. Impressively low levels of distortion. Can hear every note. Perfect for recording studio or home use.
Type I, original issue model, made in Japan in 1980.
Built to very high standards, there's a documented story of these speakers been dropped from 5 feet high and still playing perfectly. The cabinets are 1" thick high density multi-layered plywood type, no particle board here.
8 Ohms, 96db/1m
Woofer: 300mm = 12", treated high tension paper for tight, extremely agile bass.
Midrange: 75mm soft dome (dome midranges are only used in high end speakers)
Tweeter: 30mm soft dome, looks like silk
All drivers are encased in solid metal baskets - photos available upon request.
Cloth surrounds, no foams here.
Exceptional quality massive crossover.
Adjustable midrange and tweeter output.

Nominal continuous load: 80 Watts RMS, can handle transient peaks up to 120 Watts. Can be used with tube amp rated at 10-70 WPC, or with solid state amplifier rated at 40 - 200 Watts per side, as long as you take care not to blast your neighbors away.
They are not mint, but still quite presentable 8.5/10, look great and work perfectly.
The crossover is 100% original, no mods.
All drivers are original as well, stamped with "YAMAHA" and some Japanese characters, and they were all tested for performance before sale. Consecutive serial numbers, 56621 & 56622, matched pair.
