This is not a MICRO SEIKI; it is manufactured from Copper (not Gun Metal), by LJT Manufacturing in Newmarket Canada.
Gun Metal is a copper and zinc alloy. We are using COPPER plate as a raw material, the finished product is coated with a copper anti oxidant to maintain the natural look. This is a precision product to be handled with extreme care. The Copper has a Satin Hand Finish
Copper has very similar specific gravity to BRASS, and our Copper is US Supplied. Copper is more efficient at reducing static than Brass.
The TTMicroPlatter is designed to eliminate phase shifting and reduce surface born vibration in the vinyl and from the platter. You will be amazed how older records sound vibrant and detailed.
The sound is no nonsense, clean virtually eliminating phase shift. The TTMicroPlatter adds a mass of the 4.1 lb to the platter. The solid Copper Mat provides an incredibility dense surface providing the optimal vibration reducing mating surface. The surface is polished 4 micro inch finish and will not scratch records.
The system works in the following ways:
- Eliminates platter vibration using a material with a high specific gravity improving tracking and stylus stability and dramatically improving the depth of sound
- Copper provides beautiful full range and dynamic sound, very similar to Brass, the cartridge is reading the music grooves not the "vibrating record"
- Adding High Density Mass to the platter improves the turntables ability to dampen vibration structural born vibration
- The platter is flat within .002 of an inch over the entire area and parallel within .0015
- The COPPER provides exceptional static grounding of the vinyl record dramatically reducing static and surface noise reduced electromagnetic interference (noise) to the sensitive stylus
Replace the stock mat with the TTMicroPlatter and hear the music details and dynamics come alive. The .125 (1/8 inch thick) solid COPPER CNC machined Mat providing the ultimate coupling with the vinyl. Each TTMicroPlatter is CNC Machined to extremely close tolerances providing a stable, flat, round and true mating surface for the LP. Do no mount record with moving platter.
The inside is counter bored for the record label recess and to match our clamps and weights locating and clamping area.
