Pioneer Elite DV-38A DVD player.

Original owner,purchased new from authorized dealer.

Superb progressive scan DVD player. Outstanding performance with DVD-Audio discs.
This player was built back when the Elite moniker still meant something. Heavy, almost 30lbs., with the classic rosewood side panels. Excellent GUI menus to guide you through the abundant audio and video adjustments available. Full bass management for multi channel DVD-A playback. Much better than expected CD performance especially when used as a transport into a good DAC and responds extremely well to isolation devices.( currently sits atop Symposium Rollerblock Jr.'s )High quality connectors on rear panel.

Condition is a solid 7/10 cosmetically with some slight swirl marks in the high gloss finish. Rosewood panels are in excellent shape.

Player is currently non functioning, therefore the low price. Player refuses to accept any discs. Solicited professional opinions online regarding this issue and was told it is more than likely a fairly simple fix. Unit has not been in for service regarding this issue. Player did receive in warranty service for unrelated issue when approximately two years old. Worked flawlessly after that until recent, and current issue. I just wanted to make full disclosure of all and any issues with this machine. Even if the repair is in the $150 to $200 range(unlikely, should be much lower)you will still have an excellent performer at an excellent price. I have owned both this Player and a DV-09 before it. This player is the DV-09's equal ,in every way, plus has the added value of DVD-Audio. Paid over $2,000 new, have the original receipts which I will pass on to new owner.

As mentioned earlier unit is heavy , so shipping costs will be added to the selling price.Paypal accepted, buyer is responsible for the 3% fee.I have the original box and packaging, but it is in less than new condition with some damage to the Styrofoam inserts. Will attempt to double box for shipping but local pickup is preferred. The remote is in decent condition for it's age and usage, fully functional. Pictures available upon request.
